Unconstitutional Acts by Congress

Hello TH,

I am a new blogger so this first post is short and to the point... as all good conservatives should be..Ha!

The constitution reserves for the Executive and particularly the President the role of Commander over the Armed Forces and the conduct of all military operations in both peacetime and wartime. The congress exercises oversight and budgetary appropriations thereby controlling the pursestrings and the ability of the President to fund his responsibilities.

The current funding measure proposed by congress is flatly unconstitutional on its face because it seeks to impose strategic and operational  directives on the Commander in addition to regulating the amount of funding provided. Any restriction or addition to a funding measure which imposes directly or indirectly strategies and directives on the Commander and the military operatives is prohibited by law.

The role of the congress and the commander has been detailed in several war powers act in addition to the constitutional mandate and no where is the congress given the power to proscribe the strategic or operational measures to be employed in war or peace...period.

While a veto will be necessary and sufficient to thwart the dems in this illegality AMericans should be outraged that they have attempted to overturn the constitution in a glaring display of power grabbing, indifference to the constitution and open defiance toward the military defence officials throughout the military.

At some point a federal petition for redress of grievances by TH subscribers and commentators is in order.
